Parish
Pastoral Council
The
Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the Pastor
and the coordinating and unifying structure of the Parish community.
It is the means of achieving the full participation of the whole
parish by giving everyone a voice in supporting, guiding and
directing the various aspects of Parish life. It gathers together
the visions, hopes and needs of the community, reflects upon
them until a consensus is reached, and translates this process
into parish planning through the establishment of goals and
objectives. The Council sees that the Parish Commissions (Stewardship,
Evangelization, Education, Christian Service and Worship) and
their committees implement these goals and objectives. The Council's
concern is always for the welfare of the whole Parish and for
unifying the work of the Parish Commissions.
The
Madonna Parish Council assists this community of Candlepeople
in realizing its stated mission; "..a dedication to the
improvement of quality of life
by demonstrating the values
and attitudes of Christ."
The
Church of the Madonna is part of a greater cluster of parishes
with Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and St. Gregory. Each parish
has 4 members on the Area Parish Council (APC), currently serving
a one year term. The APC meets the 1st Monday of each month,
rotating between the 3 Churches
