Bethany Ministry

The ministry’s goal is to guide the family of the deceased through the planning and execution of the three parts of the Catholic funeral rite:

the wake or vigil service, the funeral liturgy and the rite of committal or burial.

Members of the ministry offer both consolation and practical guidance to families who have experienced the death of a loved one.

Ministry of the Word

The proclamation of the Word of God is truly a ministry in the Church. Lectors bring the living Word of God to the liturgical assembly.
In and through them, God speaks to the gathered
faithful. The ministry of the word, therefore, is treated seriously and with great dignity.
The Word of God is not merely read during the liturgy. It is proclaimed.

Eucharistic Ministry

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are laypeople who distribute the Eucharist during Mass and who bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.
As the title implies, there are also ordinary ministers: those who are ordained to the ministry including bishops, priests, and deacons.
