Christian
Service Commission
The
Christian Service Commission empowers the members of Madonna
to fulfill the Church's mission of love, justice, freedom and
peace by responding to societal and individual human needs.
The commission promotes programs which enable the entire Parish
to put the social teaching of the Church into action.
Phone
Chain This service provides information regarding events relevant
to the Madonna Community. Membership is open to all with free
telephone access (days, evenings and weekends). We attempt to
assign lists by area code to minimize toll charges. The Parish
recently purchased a computerized calling system reaches most
of our parishioners.
Hospitality
Provides meals for church activities at Madonna including after-Mass
refreshments, bereavement dinners, and parish -sponsored receptions.
This includes shopping food preparation, service and clean up.
Ministers
of Care Commissioned by the parish to bring the compassion and
communion of the church to the sick and the homebound.
St
Vincent DePaul Society- A conference of the international Catholic
organization of lay persons, who seek, in a spirit of justice
and charity to help those who are suffering and in need. The
Madonna Conference maintains the parish Emergency Food Pantry
and performs home visits associated with the dissemination of
vouchers for furniture and clothing from the Society's stores
and warehouses. Membership is open to anyone interested.
The
Shrine Committee Responsible for the development, restoration
and maintenance of Madonna's Marian and St. Peregrine Shrines.
Membership is open to all interested and includes commitment
to prayer for spiritual and physical healing. Fundraising continues
the restoration and maintenance of the two Shrines.
MWIA
(The Madonna Women In Action) This organization includes women
seeking to provide spiritual and intellectual growth as well
as personal development to all women of the Madonna Community.
Annual dues are $72 ($6/month). Annual celebrations include
Women's Retreat, Scholarship Prayer Breakfast or Luncheon, Winter
Holiday Party, Theater Party and Bus Trips. Fundraising supports
annual scholarships to active Madonna high school graduates
and contributions to parish-based activities or events.
The
St. Joseph Society, A coalition of Catholic men, dedicated to
youth, family and service. They are committed to follow the
example of St. Joseph by their prayer and work, ass well as
their service and example. Membership is open to all men who
support the goals and objectives of the Society. All members
provide advice, service and financial support for the basic
programs and activities approved by the group. Annual dues are
$72 ($6/month). Junior is also available for teens. Annual Celebrations
include a Superbowl Party, Men's Retreat, St. Joseph Day Men's
Mass. Mothers Day Flowers, Partners in Learning Luncheon and
a Membership Outing. Fundraising provides annual scholarships
to parochial schools; high school boys (Loyola) and middle school
girls (Our Lady of Guadalupe) and contributes to parish-based
activities or events
The
50& Up Club This is a "senior" group designed
to provide spiritual support, information, entertainment, and
organized outings for those at least 50 years young.
Membership is open to the community.
